The mission of the North Dakota Environmental Health Association is to promote and protect the environmental health of the citizens of North Dakota wherever they live, work, or play.  We unite with individuals, families, and communities to improve environmental health and enhance their quality of life.

The North Dakota Environmental Health Association (NDEHA) was founded in 1942 as the North Dakota Association of Milk Sanitarians.  In 1952, the Association became the North Dakota Association of Sanitarians.  In 1970, the National Association changed its name to the National Environmental Health Association and the State Association followed suit to become the North Dakota Environmental Health Association.  NDEHA is incorporated under the laws of North Dakota as a nonprofit professional association.  Active membership is open to anyone who works in environmental health, public health, or a related activity.  NDEHA members work in the following program areas:
