Protecting the public's health is more than just a motto for NDEHA. The Association, through its membership and varied programs, strives to accomplish its mission by education and by supporting legislation that will insure a safe food and water supply in a healthful environment.
NDEHA is committed to the professional development of the men and women who work in the health and environmental professions. This commitment is evident by the Association's more than 50 years of support to the education and professional development of its members.
Annual Educational Conference
Each November, NDEHA sponsors a comprehensive educational conference for its members and anyone interested in health and environmental issues. Concurrent and general sessions cover food, dairy, health, environment and self-develop topics. This is the one statewide conference that truly covers all program areas!
Continuing Education
NDEHA is committed to advancing the expertise of its members. A committee is maintained to certify, award, and record "contact hours" for continuing education for environmental health professionals.
Newsletter
The NDEHA Newsletter keeps members up-to-date with what is happening within the Association, as well as providing timely articles of interest to health and environmental professionals. The Newsletter is published biannually, in September and January.
Licensure
The 1985 North Dakota Legislature, with the support and sponsorship of NDEHA, passed the Environmental Health Practitioner Licensure Act. This Licensure Act insures that professionals working in environmental health programs in North Dakota will be properly educated and competent to perform their duties.
Professional Network
NDEHA promotes a professional network by providing for the mutual exchange of knowledge and experience between members and by recognizing professional excellence through the Awards Program.
Affiliations
NDEHA is currently affiliated with the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) and the International Association for Food Protection.
