NDEHA Awards Guidelines

Section 1 - Committee Duties and Organization
A. The NDEHA President shall appoint, on an annual basis, a member in good standing to serve as Chairperson of the Awards Committee.
B. The Chairperson shall recruit at least two NDEHA members to serve on the Committee.
C. The Committee's purpose is to seek and qualify nominations for NDEHA awards, using the criteria set forth in Section II.
D. The Committee will develop a list of qualified nominees and the Chairperson will submit this list to the Executive Board for final approval at least 45 days prior to the Annual Fall Conference.
E. The number and frequency of awards shall only be dependent upon qualified nominee's meeting the award criteria.
F. The Committee Chairperson shall order the awards, using the specifications found in Section III, and shall maintain a record of the award recipients to be passed on to each succeeding Awards Committee Chairperson.
G. The awards and completed recipients nomination forms, as set forth in Section IV, shall be given to the NDEHA President Prior to the start of the Annual Fall Conference.
H. The awards shall be presented by the NDEHA President at the Annual Fall Conference.
I. Changes to these Guidelines may be made by the Awards Committee with approval by the Executive Board.
   
Section II - Awards and Criteria
NDEHA Distinguished Service Award
1. Nominee must be a member of NDEHA.
2. Nominee must have demonstrated outstanding or documented achievements above and beyond what is expected.
3. Said achievement must have advanced or enhanced environmental health.
NDEHA Dedicated Service Award
1. Nominee must be a member of NDEHA.
2. Nominee must be near retirement or end of service after successfully serving at least 10 years in the environmental health profession.
NDEHA Merit Award
1. Nominee has demonstrated support for NDEHA or environmental health above and beyond what is expected.
NDEHA Plaque of Appreciation
1. Presented to outgoing NDEHA President at the last Conference in which he/she presides.
NDEHA Industry Award
1. Company or industry which has demonstrated support to NDEHA or environmental health above and beyond what is expected.
